CARPATH ROGAINING TROPHY 2025
Carpath Rogaining Trophy is a long-distance competition based on orienteering, where teams of 2 to 5 people receive a detailed topographic map of the area to be explored, a compass, and an electronic stick (SI-card), with the goal of reaching as many checkpoints as possible in order to accumulate the highest number of points within a time limit of either 4 or 24 hours, depending on the chosen course. Each checkpoint has a different value, and the winning team is the one that, based on their own strategy for reaching them, scores the most points. In the case of a tie, the deciding factor is the time taken.
The competition is organized by Clubul Sportiv Babarunca in collaboration with VSK Csikszereda and Clubul Sportiv Transylvania Rogaining, with support from the Harghita County Council, and is open to anyone passionate about sports and adventure.
This stage counts towards the overall Roza Vânturilor ranking.
The competition will take place over two time durations: 4 hours and 24 hours.
For complete information about the competition, please follow the official bulletins on the official website:

The entire course will rely exclusively on orienteering, with no directional signs or markings provided along the way.
MAPS AND CARTOGRAPHY / MAP
The map cartography was designed and created by the VSK Csikszereda team using OCAD software, by processing the original map of the competition area. To facilitate navigation, topographic indications have been removed, and the details and symbols on the map were specially selected in the spirit of Rogaining.
CONTROL POINTS / CHECKPOINTS
Each control point marked on the map is identified in the field by a “flag” in the shape of a triangular prism, with the side faces colored orange and white, measuring 30 x 30 cm. All control points are equipped with a unique identification code/number and an electronic system by “SPORTident.” The control points have different values, indicated by the first digit of their code.
