Brașov O-Meeting is a Orienteering competition held in Brașov Municipality, Romania, comprising three stages: a sprint in Brașov, a middle distance race in Poiana Brașov, and a pursuit race on Dealul Lempeș in Hărman. The sprint and middle distance stages are World Ranking Event (WRE) qualifying.

Technical info! On the Sprint map, the color of the symbol 520 – area that shall not be entered is a lighter green in order to improve the visibility of the courses!
Altitude: The area is situated 538 meters above sea level.
Relief: Urban area in a hilly and flat terrain. There are many narrow roads.
Vegetation: Mainly urban environment with buildings, stairs, and a few parks.
Runability and Visibility: Urban type.
Paths and Roads: Predominantly residential area.

Terrain: Broadleaf forest with a rich network of trails and a considerable area covered by clearings.

Event center
The race numbers can be picked up on Friday, September 18th. Race numbers cannot be picked up from the competition area after the communicated deadline, except for the open, open children, and family categories, which can register on-site. During the competition (September 19/20), registration will be open daily between 08:00 and 09:30 at the competition center in each location. The event secretariat will respond to emails within 24 hours.

Timing System
The electronic timing system Sportident will be used. Competitors with a standard Sportident card will check in as usual, while SIAC users will be able to use the contactless system.
Sportident Card
Rental SI cards are available at no additional cost for participants who do not have their own chip. The fee for a lost Sportident card is €75.
Live Results
Online live results will be available, and the overall results will be published on the website after the final stage.

* The competitors in the MF18 and MF35 categories who want to run in the Sprint race in MF21E and in the other races in their respective age category are invited to communicate their intentions by email to the organisers, as the system does not allow registration under different categories.

Fee payment
Registrations are valid only after fees have been received in our bank account. Please indicate the name and category on the transfer.
Cancellations: Cancellations made by September 18 will receive a 50% refund. In the event of a complete or partial cancellation of the event due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to retain part or all of the registration fees.
Additional Note: Payment at the competition center is only accepted for the Open, Open Children, and Family categories, which are the only categories still open for registration. Unpaid registrations by October 14 will be invalidated. The last day for registration is October 11, 2024.

Award ceremony
WRE categories will be awarded after the competition on both days, with prizes given to the top 6 positions. After the Sprint stage—the final stage of the FRO National Sprint Championship—a prize-giving ceremony for the CN Sprint will be organized by the FRO. Both the Sprint and Middle Distance (MD) stages contribute to determining the starting order for the final Pursuit stage. On Sunday, all competition categories will have a prize-giving ceremony at Yaz – the event center.

București Henri Coandă
The distance between Henri Coandă Airport (Otopeni) and Brașov is approximately 160 kilometers. There are several options for traveling from the airport to Brașov:
By Car: You can rent a car at the airport and drive to Brașov. The journey takes about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions. It is recommended to use a navigation app like Waze to choose the fastest route, as this is one of the busiest roads in Romania.
By Train: From the airport, you can take a train to Gara de Nord in Bucharest (about 20-30 minutes). From Gara de Nord, you can take a direct train to Brașov. The Intercity (IC) and InterRegio (IR) trains are the fastest and most comfortable, with a journey time of approximately 2-3 hours.
Transfer Services: Another convenient option is to use transfer services that offer direct transport from Henri Coandă Airport to Brașov.
